Motorcyclist flown to hospital with ‘potentially life-threatening injuries’ after serious crash in Heatherhayes, Ipswich

A motorcyclist has been airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital with serious injuries after a crash in the Stoke Park area of Ipswich.

Emergency services were called to the crash involving a motorbike and a parked car in Heatherhayes at around 11.50am.
The East Anglian Air Ambulance was sent to the scene and transported a man, believed to be in his 20s, to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with serious injuries including a broken pelvis.

Police have confirmed the injured man was the motorcyclist and said he may have suffered potentially life-threatening injuries.
Officers also confirmed the collision involved a parked car.
The East of England Ambulance Service Trust (EEAST) sent the East Anglian Air Ambulance, and ambulance crew and an ambulance officer to the scene.
A volunteer critical care paramedic (CCP) from the Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) charity also attended.

The CCP sedated the man at the scene before he was airlifted to hospital, a SARS spokesman said.
No-one else is thought to have been injured in the incident, which took place near the Laurelhayes junction.
Police closed the road as a result of the crash, with around seven police cars spotted at the scene.
The road re-opened at approximately 7pm.
Any witnesses are urged to call police on 101.
