EAST Anglia's air ambulance service had to halt its display at the Lowestoft Air Show today so it could deal with an emergency.

The Wattisham-based crew were called away from the show at about 1.40pm today, just 10 minutes after they started demonstrating a sea rescue.

They flew to London's Regent's Park where they picked up a doctor and nurse before flying to Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire.

They then flew back to the park from where the doctor, nurse and young patient were taken to Great Ormond Street children's hospital in the capital.
