Escaped murderer picture released

POLICE have released a photograph of a convicted murderer who has absconded from an East Anglian jail.

John Roff, 41, is currently is approaching the end of a life sentence for murder and attempted murder at Hollesley Bay Prison's open unit, near Woodbridge.

John Roff, 41, is currently approaching the end of a life sentence for murder and attempted murder at Hollesley Bay Prison's open unit, near Woodbridge.

He failed to return last Friday after temporary release in Ipswich.

Roff was described as 1.82 metres tall, of medium build, with a fair complexion, black hair and brown eyes. He is the sixth convicted killer to abscond from the jail in three years.
