THE EVENING Star newsroom is bringing you the latest developments as they happen - in the wake of the terrorist attack on America.

On Tuesday later editions of the Star brought front page news of the disaster, the hundreds of lives feared lost, and pictures of the World Trade Center in New York after two planes crashed into it.

This was followed by a special edition with three pages of news about the stricken building collapsing, the Pentagon being hit, and how the planes had been hijacked.

On Wednesday a special edition brought more shocking images of people jumped from the towers, and the launch of the Star's on-line Book of Condolences.

On Thursday the world was still reeling from the tragedy, and news was beginning to filter through about relatives and friends across the Atlantic.

We told eyewitness accounts from local people who had seen the second plane crash into the World Trade Center, and of a barman who escaped death by oversleeping and missing a job interview at the Center at 9am on Tuesday.
