THIS is the first picture of the Felixstowe woman Zena Burton, who is charged with murdering John Westgate.

Wearing a bright red T-shirt, 45-year-old Burton appeared before magistrates in Ipswich on Saturday.

Burton was arrested on Thursday after the body of Mr Westgate, 36, was found in a flat in Dinsdale Court, Undercliff Road West, in Felixstowe.

Burton also lives at Dinsdale Court in Undercliff Road West, Felixstowe.

She was charged with murder on Friday, after being questioned for more than 24 hours by detectives at Ipswich Police Station.

A post-mortem examination carried out by Dr Michael Heath at Ipswich Hospital, has revealed that Mr Westgate died as a result of strangulation.

Police were called to the Orbit Housing Association flat – one of 33 in a 1960s-built complex – by a member of the public shortly after 10am on Wednesday.

The officers' visit followed a report that a body had been discovered.

Neighbours in the complex of flats were deeply shocked at the news of the man's sudden death, but some residents have also have told in the Evening Star how they knew little of him.
