SINCE being home, Mr and Mrs Holmes are attempting to get their lives back to normal and develop a routine again.
Mrs Holmes has already been to mother and toddler sessions and has walked around town again, including visiting the site of her accident though it did not prompt any memory.
Although she is making an excellent recovery, fatigue is an issue as she still needs to sleep for an hour at certain times throughout the day. She also occasionally has blurred vision due to detached nerve.
Mrs Holmes claims one of the most frustrating side effects of the accident at the moment is the fact that she cannot drive however this is something she hopes to be able to do again in the future.
She said: “There are still a lot of things I cannot do at the moment, like lift Ciara. I'm trying to get back to normality and I am able to bathe and feed her. I help change Ciara's nappies but look after her by myself yet because I get tired and can't do certain things like cooking.”
In the near future she is planning on taking some rehabilitation courses in swimming and cooking through the brain injury charity Headway.
