A FAMILY today had a lucky escape when a fire broke out in their kitchen.
Firefighters were called to the blaze in Malyon Road, Hadleigh, shortly after 4.45pm.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service's assistant divisional officer Geoff Pyke said that the family members were out of the house by the time the firefighters arrived.
The crews from Hadleigh and Princes Street, Ipswich, had the blaze under control within half an hour.
