A family whose daughter has suffered from a rare form of cancer are holding a charity burlesque night to help other children.

Darren and Kara Southall, of Walton, Felixstowe, were devastated in 2010 when they learned that Erin, then a toddler, had neuroblastoma – a tumour that develops from nerve tissue.

But now, aged nearly 10, she is fine, and her family and friends are holding a night of cabaret entertainment at Felixstowe Trades and Labour Club on September 14.

It will raise funds for the Dreams Come True charity, which helps youngsters suffering from serious conditions to achieve their dreams.

“This will be our last year in fundraising, so we have done something different and new to Felixstowe,” Mr Southall said.

The Charity Gold Burlesque night will feature 10 acts, including Pinkie T’Boo, Lou Safire and Domino Devile, who are all producers at The Cheeky Devils Club at KC’s nightclub in Ipswich.

Erin’s mum Kara will also be taking part, after appearing in a few shows and going to a competition in Liverpool this year.

Dreams Come True is a charity which means a lot to the family, after in the past it arranged for Erin to be a princess at Harrods and for her brother Kyle, 15, who has Crohn’s disease, to see Dynamo the Magician.

The Southalls have also held previous charity events including a cheeky Full Monty show and charity disco, which raised funds for Addenbrooke’s Hospital, which cared for Erin, and the Ipswich-based Shona Smile Foundation.

The show will start at 8pm, with doors opening at 7pm. To book tickets for the Charity Gold Burlesque night, which are £15 for standard tickets or £25 for VIP tickets, call 07504243309.
