A GRIEVING family have paid tribute to a “dear son, brother and grandson” after he was killed in a crash last week.

Craig Hewitt, 22, of Carlton Colville, died on Friday after an accident in Corton Road, Lowestoft.

His family released a tribute through the police today.

They said: “He was a cheerful, quiet, shy, sensitive and kind person, with a generous and polite manner, who would do anything for anyone.

“Even on his last day he was running late for work but was still helping others.

“Craig had a difficult start in life; his first milestone was being able to come home after a number of operations and many months in hospital.

“Despite this, his determination to get on with life despite numerous challenges meant that he always fought hard for what he wanted, and didn't stop trying until he got it.

“Craig was a pupil at Dell County Primary, Elm Tree Middle School and Kirkley High School before going to Lowestoft College to study Travel and Tourism where he made many friends.

“The family would like to thank all who attended the scene and did everything they could for him. We thank friends and family for their floral tributes and heartfelt messages at this dreadful time.

“We miss Craig terribly; his loss leaves a huge empty hole in our lives. Nevertheless, we have so many wonderful memories of Craig which we will treasure in our hearts forever, especially his big smile.”
