Tributes have been paid to 26-year-old motorcyclist Robert Stewart from Ipswich who died following a crash in Akenham on Saturday.

The collision, between a white Audi and Mr Stewart’s blue Yamaha motorcycle, happened just before 1pm on Saturday April 29 between the Lower Road and Rede Lane junctions.

Mr Stewart, of Maudslay Road, is believed to have been riding out of Ipswich towards Henley while the Audi was travelling towards Ipswich.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, Mr Stewart died at the scene.

His family have today issued a tribute the ‘perfect family man’.

It reads: “Robert was an amazing man to know, he was my everything: the perfect family man.

“He was a loving son, partner, brother and dad and we shared so many good times together.

“He was taken too soon and will be sadly missed by us all.”

The two people in the Audi suffered minor injuries during the collision, with one taken to Ipswich Hospital with neck pain, according to reports.

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or seen the manner of driving of either of the vehicles prior to the crash.
