EIGHT football fans were arrested as a result of Ipswich Town's FA Cup clash with Manchester City.

Police said they included a fan from Manchester, following a scuffle between rival supporters outside the Novotel Hotel in Greyfriars Road, Ipswich, shortly after 9pm.

The force helicopter flew overhead as officers tried to break-up the clash.

Four fans were also ejected from the Portman Road ground, but a police spokesman was unable to reveal who the offenders supported.
