Fans on queue for Daniel

A GROUP of die-hard fans have decided to brave the elements in Ipswich to grab their place at the front of the queue for tickets to see Daniel O'Donnell.

The group of mainly women, with a token man along for support, were queued outside the Cornhill last night … two days before the tickets actually go on sale.

All said they loved him so much they were prepared to brave the cold and long hours for a shot at the front row.

Ruth Brett was there with her husband Ronald and the couple from Cambridge were determined to get their hands on the tickets.

"Our house is a bit like a shrine to Daniel and we even have tea towels with his face on," said Mrs Brett.

"I am a fan but I have also come along for moral support and to show solidarity," said Mr Brett the lone male of the group.

The group plan to stay over two nights until the tickets go on sale at 8.30am tomorrow.

But unlike previous years there will be no tents as the area is a public right of way and it is against the law. There was some apprehension as to what the weekend held in store for them.

"I am a huge fan and I come every year. This year there will be no tents so we are sleeping out on chairs with blankets. He means that much to me that I am willing to put up with the noise and crowds that we may come across," said Liz Collins, from Alresford near Colchester.

Sarah Reynolds is from Bildeston and has been coming to see Daniel for years.

"I have been doing this for seven years and I just love coming to see him as he puts on such a good show."

Daniel is performing at the Regent Theatre on February 21, 22 and 23 and it looks like it will prove to be a total sell out.
