A FARMER has told how a large barn fire could have left him for dead in the early hours of this morning.

Allan Glossop had to rush into his barn on Glebe Farm, Newbourne Road, Waldringfield to drive four cars and a tractor to safety after fire broke out shortly after midnight.
The barn, worth �25,000 contained a large quantity of hay and was just metres from his home.
He said he believes the fire was an arson attack against him and the police are involved.
The 34-year-old said: “I went to bed, the windows started glowing up and so I rushed outside.
“If I had not known anything about it I could have died.”

Three fire crews from Ipswich, Woodbridge and Felixstowe attended at the scene. The fire was extinguished by 1.04am but a crew remained at the scene most of the night to ensure it did not flare up again.
