A FARMHOUSE in Suffolk caught fire late last night after a “small explosion” in the kitchen.

Firefighters were called to Foxes Farmhouse in Otley Road, Framsden, near Stowmarket, at around 10.40pm.

Crews from Debenham, Framlingham and the HQ in Princes Street, Ipswich, found the building heavily smoke-logged.

They used a thermal imaging camera to locate the source of the flames before moving in to contain it.

After bringing the fire under control at around 11.50pm, crews worked to ventilate the detached house. There were no reports of serious damage and no-one was injured. It is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze started after a “small explosion” in the kitchen.
