Customers at the Spar convenience store in Woodbridge Road, Ipswich, were greeted by two young reindeer on Christmas Eve, to help raise money for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice.
The two festive creatures were outside the store from 10am to 2pm, along with an owl and keeper, after staff at the family run store wanted to do something to get people into the Christmas spirit.
Karen Self from the store said: “It went really well, the kids absolutely loved it. We have had loads of people down and for the kids it is just wonderful.”
Joining the reindeer were Santa and two of his elves.
“We thought about a blow-up Grotto, but then we thought reindeer would be a real showstopper,” Mrs Self said.
The store raised £225 in four hours for EACH.
Mrs Self added “It was absolutely fantastic and well worth doing it.
“Last year we celebrated 25 years as a family running this store with a fun day, and hopefully we can do something similar for Christmas next year.”
