CONCERN is mounting that a busy junction on the border of Woodbridge and Melton will become too congested if offices are built next to a large housing development.

Melton Hill, where Suffolk Coastal District Council has its headquarters, is already a bottleneck during peak periods and now Melton parish council is concerned that this could become worse during the day.

There will be nearly 100 flats and houses when the residential scheme is completed which could lead to an extra 200 cars on the roads.

There are also plans to have up to 50,000 sq ft of offices although at the moment the first planning application, submitted by Park Properties (Anglia) Ltd, is for a smaller office development with parking, servicing and landscaping at the Deben Mill site.
