Pam White is the wardrobe co-ordinator for the IODS and said the production is going to be visually one of the best they have done.

"The costumes are really wonderful and we have pulled out all the stops. My friend has made 22 enormous fans made out of ostrich feathers which took about two weeks to make and cost £550.

"We must be the most professional amateurs around," she laughed.

"We source our materials from all over the country and this time the feathers came from a little firm in Derby.

"There are 300 costumes in the production and we are still doing last minute alterations to get everything just right. Then I am looking forward to sitting back and watching everything on stage, " she added.

*For tickets call the box office on Ipswich 433100. There is also the chance to win a pair of tickets for the opening night of the show on September 25. Just send your name in to Victoria Knowles, Evening Star, Press House, Lower Brook Street, Ipswich.
