A FELIXSTOWE-based DJ today issued a heartfelt thanks after a charity disco night helped raise thousands of pounds for charity.
Jon Kennedy, of St George’s Road in Old Felixstowe, brought out his decks for the event at the Trades and Labour Club earlier this month.
Scores of people turned out to support the evening, which ended up helping to raise £3,100 for the Woolverstone Wish Fund.
Mr Kennedy said: “I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who helped us.
“People were being so generous and on the night people were giving us money – I think in one night we did very well.”
Mr Kennedy has hosted a series of charity events for the Woolverstone Wish Fund since his wife Judith, 57, died of a rare form of cancer.
Mrs Kennedy had extensive chemotherapy at the Woolverstone Day Unit.
The aim of the Woolverstone Wish Fund is to raise £800,000 which will go towards refurbishing the chemotherapy outpatient clinics and day unit in Ipswich Hospital’s Woolverstone Wing.
