An internet fraudster who ran his counterfeit fragrance business from premises in Felixstowe has been given a 12-month jail term he is unlikely to serve.
Bulgarian Rudi Naydev, formerly of Holland Road, was originally due to appear in court in 2011 but absconded and an arrest warrant was issued. He was detained trying to enter the country in August last year but re-bailed by Ipswich magistrates.
Naydev has not been seen since and is believed to be abroad. Another arrest warrant has been issued should he return to the UK.
In addition to the jail term imposed on him by South East Suffolk Magistrates Court Naydev is also supposed to pay £11,850 costs.
In February Naydev was found guilty in his absence of eight charges under the Trade Marks Act for the sale and possession of counterfeit fragrances whilst trading as Dreamstorage Limited in 2009.
He was caught during an investigation by Suffolk Trading Standards Department.
