FROM whole stadiums of people dancing to individuals in their bedrooms, the Harlem Shake has spread across the internet like wildfire.

And now Felixstowe-based free running group Escape Reality have joined the craze by putting together their own version of the dance and posting it on the internet.

Harlem Shake clips normally feature one person dancing alone to the music, created by American DJ Baauer, while a group of people close by act oblivious to what is going on.

And when a voice on the track says “Do the Harlem Shake”, the image suddenly switched to everyone dancing wildly.

Escape Reality’s version was only posted a month ago but has already amassed more than 2,000 views.

Team leader Grant Belton, 19, said: “This is one of the most popular videos we have done and it is just of us messing around but people have just found it hilarious.

“We are not so much following the trends, but if we find something that we think is hilarious then we will do our own variation of it.”

The team say posting the video online has also led to a boost in their popularity.

The Harlem Shake was started in February in an Australian schoolboy’s bedroom but hundreds of versions have been made since including efforts by the Norwegian army and the English National Ballet.
