Vehicles were forced to negotiated flooded roads at Walton near Felixstowe as flash flooding hit the Suffolk coast on Monday afternoon.
Local resident Vincent Miles took these pictures from his home on Walton High Street just minutes after the storm hit.
He said: “It was just like someone had emptied a bucket of water on the whole area. It came down very quickly and the roads were flooded for about 30 minutes to an hour.
“It then all drained away and got back to normal.” He said the storm itself did not last long but it was very intense.
Storms were very sporadic – there was a short spell of rain in Ipswich, but nothing as intense as this and other parts of the town did not see any rain at all.
More rain is forecast on Tuesday afternoon and evening – but that is expected to be more widespread by less intense, bringing good news for gardeners looking to green up their lawns!
