EXPERTS are to look at the possibility of providing a gypsy and traveller site on the Felixstowe peninsula.
Inspector Mike Moore, who recently held a public inquiry into a number of topics contained in the blueprint Suffolk Coastal council has put forward for the development of the district in the next 15 years, expressed concern at the absence of the provision of a transit site for gypsies and travellers in the area between Ipswich and Felixstowe.
Andy Smith, cabinet member for planning at the district council, said officers had taken the issue on board and agreed to look into the matter.
“The council has proposed that this be addressed by including in the LDF Core Strategy a commitment to undertake a single topic review of this issue,” he said.
