A man who sent an obscene message on Facebook to a young woman he had only known for a short time is due to be sentenced later this month.
Damon Vinyard, of Walton Avenue, Felixstowe, received a police caution last year for a similar offence, Ipswich magistrates heard.
The 42-year-old pleaded guilty to sending an obscene or indecent message from a public communications network.
The offence occurred on August 20.
Magistrates told Vinyard he had targeted a vulnerable victim with a “very indecent” message.
Prosecutor Lesla Small said the message was of a sexual nature.
Vinyard had previously sent the woman a request to be friends on Facebook.
The court was told as soon as the woman had accepted the request Vinyard’s obscene message appeared.
Magistrates adjourned sentencing until the afternoon of September 25.
Vinyard was released on bail on condition that he did not contact his victim directly or indirectly.
