MORE than 3,000 people attended a week of concerts involving school children from all over Suffolk raising money for some of the poorest people on the planet.
The Waiting for Christmas concerts were held at the Spa Pavilion in Felixstowe over seven nights and the team behind the project was delighted with the response.
Around 1,400 youngsters took part in the shows, conveying the message of Christmas through dance, drama and songs, many newly-written for the shows by songwriter and project leader Andrew Rayner.
The team – a group of Felixstowe-based Christians – has also recorded a CD of the songs and a produced a DVD, with the aim to raise more than �50,000.
Profits are going to aid agency Tearfund, a charity helping poor communities in Africa to overcome problems such as unclean water, especially in Malawi .
? The CD and DVD are on sale from a number of outlets, including East of England Co-op stores around the area.
