Felixstowe: Shocks and surprises in store at Hallowe’en house at resort

TRICK or treaters visiting one Felixstowe house at Hallowe’en next week will find their hosts dressed to thrill.

Over the past couple of years word has spread about the property in Quilter Road – and the spooky shocks and surprises waiting inside for those who dare to take the tour.

This year householder David Graves and friend Greg Palmer, who organise the event with support from a team of friends and family, have decided to use the evening to raise cash for Help for Heroes.

“The first year we did it we had about 50 people come, and then last year it really seemed to take off – everyone who had been the year before had spread the word and we had people from all over the Felixstowe area and we had big queues,” said Mr Palmer, of Newbury Road, Ipswich.

“It had really gone from strength to strength, so this year we have changed it around and made it much bigger – a proper spooky tour.

“We’ve got smoke machines and sound effects, lights, and lots of surprises.

“It’s great fun and we really want everyone who comes through to have fun – and be scared.

“We challenge people not to be scared – some of the older youngsters think they won’t be and we won’t catch them out, but we always do. We do have to tone it down a bit if we get smaller children because we don’t want to upset them too much.”

On the night at the property – 33A Quilter Road, Felixstowe – the fun will start from early evening. Admission is free but people can make donations to the charity.
