Two Felixstowe identical twins are visiting all 92 English football grounds in 92 hours this week to raise money for good causes.
Chris and Stuart Daynes, both 41, have already broken their £2,500 fundraising target to help Felixstowe and Walton United build a new clubhouse and provide vital funds to the Crohn’s and Colitis UK Charity.
Chris has suffered from Crohn’s disease, which affects the digestive system, for the last five years.
Both also volunteer at Felixstowe and Walton United, based at The Goldstar Ground in Dellwood Avenue. Over the last year, the club has raised around £45,000 of the £70,000 it needs to raise towards the construction of the £500,000 new clubhouse, which is receiving other funding support.
They started the fundraising campaign at Colchester United on Monday morning and are due to finish at Portman Road, home of Ipswich Town, tomorrow.
Chris, of Felixstowe, said: “It was my brother’s idea and he convinced me to do it. We are both enjoying it, although we are not getting much sleep, but a lot of the smaller clubs are making a great effort for us.”
