THREE men have been bailed after being questioned about a head-on collision in Felixstowe which left a woman with suspected spinal injuries.

Police are now appealing for information as they attempt to uncover the chain of events which led to the incident in High Road East, Felixstowe, at about 9.15pm on Saturday.

Officers and paramedics were sent to the scene of the two-car collision, which took place near to the junction with Park Avenue.

A spokesman for East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were alerted at 9.13pm and we dispatched one ambulance and a duty operations manager to the scene.

“We conveyed a woman with a back injury to Ipswich Hospital for further care.”

The incident involved a blue Audi and a blue Ford Mondeo, and it is believed the force of the impact caused the wheels of the Audi to come off.

The car has been written off.

A police spokeswoman said it is understood the occupants of one of the cars, three men, walked away from the incident.

The vehicle was later moved to High Road West, close to the police station, although it is unclear about the circumstances surrounding this.

Three men were later arrested in Brook Lane and they have since been bailed until a later date.

The spokeswoman added: “It came in as a two-vehicle head-on collision. Three males in another car appeared to get out and walk away.”

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time, or who has information, to call them on 101.
