A woman in her 40s who died after being found critically injured in Felixstowe has been named as Diana Last.

Police were called at 4.50pm on Wednesday over concerns for a woman admitted to Ipswich Hospital with critical injuries, having been found on the floor of her home in Leeward Court.

It was confirmed on Thursday that she had died as a result of her injuries.

Suffolk police have now named the woman has Diana Last.

A post mortem has been carried out, although the cause of her death is still undetermined.

A police spokeswoman said further tests will be carried out to establish how she died.

Officers arrested a 58-year-old man on suspicion of murder, who was released under investigation while police inquiries continue.

Officers are continuing to appeal for anyone who witnessed anything or has any information which can help police in their enquiries to contact them on 101.
