IPSWICH'S May Day Festival organisers have today announced the line up for the rock stage.

Held in Alexandra Park the event is 2009 event is being held in celebration of International Worker's Day.

And the line up for the rock stage includes Phantom Players, Caution Horses and Blue Bark.

Rock stage coordinator Tony Shevlin said: “Held on the Sunday of the first May Day Bank Holiday each year, the festival is proud to be one of the only traditional UK Trade Union May Day Festivals to still be going strong.

“It boasts a wide range of activities, but it's mostly known for its excellent music. There is a Rock Stage, Urban Stage and Acoustic/Community Tent.

“The aim is to bring together the multi-cultural society of Ipswich and its surrounding area, and celebrate life.”

Children's rides, food, beer tent, stalls, five-a-side football, martial arts display are also planned as well as trade union, political, community stalls and speakers.

Caution Horses 2pm - Ipswich quartet whose of guitar-driven rock mixes up Squeeze, Dire Straits and the Beautiful South.

Kudos 3pm - Hard rock from a trio.

Blue Bark 4pm This Essex-based four-piece playing electric blues/rock.

Waxies' Dargle 5pm With the spirit, anarchy and irreverence of a Pogues' performance.
