Fine for man who used false tax disc

PART-TIME worker James Davis was fined £50 by South East Suffolk Magistrates for fraudulent use of a tax disc.

The 53-year-old Citroen driver admitted using a tax disc from another vehicle after police stopped him on the A12 at Martlesham, said prosecutor Gareth Davies.

Defending himself, Davis, of Kennels Road, Foxhall, said he lives out in the country and finds it a struggle to keep mobile.

In sentencing, chairwoman of the bench, Wendy Tolliday, also ordered Davis to pay £25 towards prosecution costs.
