Fire at charity shop - arson feared

Firefighters were called to the store on the town's High Street shortly after midnight.
The fire started in a wheelie bin and spread to the rear of the property. Today the back door and rear window of the shop are boarded up.
Area manager, Amanda Pass, said that this was not the first time the shop had been a target of vandals. She believes the store came under attack a few years ago. Staff are obviously upset and very distressed, she said.
A spokesman for Suffolk Police confirmed that the incident was being treated as arson and appealed to anyone with information to contact investigating officer, Pc Jay Mohtram.
A retained fire crew from Hadleigh station had the blaze under control by 1.30am.

Elsewhere today firefighters from Stowmarket and Needham Market
were called to an address in Stowupland.
A shed used as a Wendy house in Devon Road had caught fire shortly before 7.30pm. It took about 15 minutes to bring the blaze under control.
Meanwhile Martlesham mum, Charlotte Moore, is getting back to normal today after having called fire crews to her house yesterday after smoke started drifting into the house yesterday.
The 26-year-old had lit a log fire in the sitting room and the chimney caught alight at her home in Post Office Lane.
Mum of two Charlotte said: "There was smoke coming onto the house and as there was more smoke than usual I thought something wasn't right and called the fire brigade.
"There wasn't any flames or anything but the whole room was filled with smoke. It had calmed down by the time the fire service arrived."
One crew attended the blaze which started at 12.30 pm and took around 15 minutes to bring under control.
