FIREFIGHTERS were called out after a fire broke out at a communal residence in East Bergholt.
A crew from Manningtree responded to the emergency call at around 6.50pm on Saturday from Old Hall, Rectory Hill, East Bergholt.
They found a small fire had broken out in a chimney and called for assistance from crews in Ipswich with a turntable ladder.
The former convent and Franciscan priory is home to several families who live together as a community of around 50 people, and no one was injured during the incident.
