SUFFOLK'S firefighters have been called to various fires around the region today.

Crews tackled a blaze in five square meters of hedgerow and shrubbery on Norwich Road, Ipswich, at about 4.45pm.

At about 5.45pm two crews went to Heath Road in Ipswich where 400 meters of gorse were well alight, but that was under control by about 6.10pm.

Then at about 6.25pm they attended Bilney Road in Woodbridge where rubbish in a skip was on fire, and at about 6.45pm they went to the Anglo Norden site on Helena Road, Ipswich, where some timber was on fire.
