FIRE fighters saved a 30ft boat from sinking at Neptune Marina in Ipswich yesterday.
The owners were desperately trying to pump water from The Tracer when the crews arrived.
Sub officer David Collins, in charge of the Princes Street crew, said: "We saved the boat.
"The vessel, used for leisure purposes, had about half a metre to a metre of water in it.
"When we got there we became concerned because a small pump was being used which wasn't enough to cope. We used a bigger pump and the boat was lifted by a crane out of the water."
A fire engine from Princes Street and an operational support vehicle from headquarters on Colchester Road attended the 2.30 pm incident.
