SIXTEEN Suffolk residents had to be treated for smoke inhalation - one of them a baby - after a fire at a block of flats.
Early indications suggest that the cause of the fire at St Andrew's flats in Icewell Hill, Newmarket, is arson.
Firecrews were called at around 7.45pm yesterday. They found a small fire in the ground floor lobby, which caused the building to be smoke-logged.
Nine people were treated at the scene, while the remaining seven were taken to West Suffolk Hospital. All are expected to be released today.
