FIREFIGHTERS from Wickhambrook and Bury St Edmunds were sent to a pub yesterday afternoon after a fire was found in the attached boiler room.
The drama unfolded at the Marquis of Cornwallis in The Street, Chedburgh, at 2.50pm and firefighters used special breathing equipment, thermal imaging equipment and hoses to bring the fire under control.
The blaze had taken hold in the single-storey boiler room, which measured 2m by 2m.
The fire crews left the scene at 3.30pm.
