FIREFIGHTERS have this evening tackled a blaze in a rubbish shoot in Ipswich.
Two crews from Princes Street fire station were called to the scene of the fire in St Matthew's Street at about 8.30pm.
Fire control had received reports of smoke issuing from a building on the street in the town centre.
Upon arrival firefighters discovered a fire in a rubbish shoot, contained within a rubbish bin.
Crews extinguished the flames and used a thermal imaging camera to check for further spread of the blaze.
The incident was under control by about 8.55pm.
