Residents of a home in Kerry Avenue were left with a major clear-up operation today after fire seriously damaged one of its bedrooms.
The blaze was spotted shortly before noon, and firefighters from Ipswich took about half an hour to put it out and ensure that it was fully extinguished.
No one was hurt in the blaze, but the residents are expected to have to stay elsewhere while the damage is repaired.
The fire damage is thought to be confined to one bedroom - but there was thought to be smoke damage throughout the house.
A total of three appliances from Ipswich East and Princes Street were sent to the scene.
