Fireball murderer given life

TERENCE Abbott was sentenced to life in prison today after being convicted of murdering his former wife Lorraine Baldwin.

Three members of the jury at Norwich Crown Court shed tears as the unanimous verdict was returned.

Three members of the jury at Norwich Crown Court shed tears as the unanimous verdict was returned.

Abbott, 53, of Speedwell Road, Ipswich, killed Mrs Baldwin by turning her into a human fireball after dousing her in petrol at her aunt and uncle's home in Goldcrest Road in April last year.

Sentencing Abbott Justice Richard Curtis told him: "What you did was unbelievably sadistic."
