Three members of the jury at Norwich Crown Court shed tears as the unanimous verdict was returned.
Abbott, 53, of Speedwell Road, Ipswich, killed Mrs Baldwin by turning her into a human fireball after dousing her in petrol at her aunt and uncle's home in Goldcrest Road in April last year.
Sentencing Abbott Justice Richard Curtis told him: "What you did was unbelievably sadistic."
