FEMINIST firebrand Germaine Greer is set to appear with Suffolk MP John Gummer when Radio 4's Any Questions arrives in the county this month.

Labour Party chairman Charles Clarke, who is also a Norfolk MP, and Marxist journalist Mick Hume are also set to join the panel, which is chaired by host Jonathan Dimbleby.

The radio debate show visits Stowupland High School on May 24 – and will be broadcast live from the school's drama studio in front of an audience of around 200 people.

Members of the audience will be posing the questions on a topical issue of the week – if their questions are chosen by the show's producers.

Stowupland's headteacher Peter Richards said how "incredibly proud" he was the school are playing host to the programme.

"We are looking forward to what promises to be a good night," he said. "We have been waiting a little while for the programme to be broadcast from the school as there is a very long waiting list. We are over the moon they are coming now."

Tickets are free but places are limited and you must be over 15 to attend. Tickets can be obtained from the school on 01449 674827.

The BBC last visited Suffolk when Jonathan Dimbleby's brother David hosted Question Time, the TV version of the show, from Ipswich's Corn Exchange to coincide with the town's by-election in November.
