FIREFIGHTERS in the county were called to three separate blazes in the early hours of today.Emergency services were called to Hurricane Place in Ipswich at around 3.47am after a ford Escort, Renault van and a Hyundai 4x4 went up in flames.

Emergency services were called to Hurricane Place in Ipswich at around 3.47am after a Ford Escort, a Renault van and a Hyundai 4x4 went up in flames.

Firefighters used two water fogs and a hose reel jet to control the fires by 4.21am.

Meanwhile an investigation has been launched after a suspected arson attack at a cricket hut in Woolpit.

The blaze took hold in a temporary building on Elmswell Road at around 2.55am and was under control by 4.19am.

And in Chelmondiston around 15 tonnes of straw bails went up in flames at around 5.19am.

Two hose reel jets were used to douse the fire.
