A WOMAN had to be cut from her car after colliding with a tree on a minor road in west Suffolk this morning.

At 10pm police received a call that a blue BMW had left the B1112 and struck a tree in Station Road, Lakenheath.

The woman driver was trapped in the car and had to bee freed by firefighters using cutting equipment.

She was taken to RAF Lakenheath for further treatment to minor injuries.

The B1112 was closed either side of the train station in Lakenheath for more than two hours while emergency crews cleared the road.

Other incidents during the day included a car leaving the road in West Row. A car drove into a ditch off Naughton Road, Whatfield. A car overturned in a ditch on Bury Road, Chedburgh at 3.30pm. Earlier in the day a two vehicle road traffic collision took place on London Road, Elveden.
