A WOMAN had to be cut out of a car wreckage after a crash in east Suffolk this afternoon.

The collision left three women injured on the B1125 at Middleton, near Saxmundham.

Firefighters had to use hydraulic cutting equipment to free one of the casualties who had become trapped in the car which had collided with another vehicle.

The accident happened at just after 3pm and all the women were treated by paramedics at the scene.

Earlier in the afternoon the ambulance service was also called out to Hintlesham where a lorry and a car had collided on the A1071.

A spokeswoman said an elderly man had suffered a minor arm injury as a result of the accident but was not taken to hospital.
