Firefighters were called to tackle a fire started in some reeds in park space off Whitland Close, near Stoke Park Drive, Ipswich, this morning.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was called at 10.20am to Whitland Close and Stoke Park Drive, after reports of a fire.
A spokeswoman said the two crews that attended – one from Princes Street and one from east Ipswich – found a fire in some reed beds in the park.
The fire service confirmed that no-one had been reported as injured.
The two fire crews used hose reels to put out the flames, completed shortly before 11.30am.
It is not yet clear how the fire began.
A Suffolk police spokeswoman said that no officers were called to attend in person, but the issue had been passed on to its management hub in the area to “make contact to see if there is a crime there or not”.
