FIREFIGHTERS in Suffolk have been tackling blazes across the county.

At about 10.30am today two crews were called to a washing machine fire in Elmswell.

Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used one hose reel to bring the fire under control by about 10.40am and then ventilated the house.

Earlier today, at about 2.55am, the fire service was called to the Temple Close area of Hadleigh where a car was well alight, but that was brought under control by about 3.15am.

And another car fire was put out by the fire service at about 9.30pm last night in Green Lane, Stratford St Mary.
