ROCK music and giant fireworks combined to create a spectacular event as Ipswich celebrated bonfire night.
The annual fireworks evening at Christchurch Park pulled in crowds of between 23,000 and 25,000 to watch a large pyrotechnic display accompanied by music from rock band Queen.
Caroline Wheeler-Rowe, press officer for the 11th Ipswich Scout Group which presented the 'We Will Rock You - Fireworks and Queen' night, said: “It went extremely well. The atmosphere was brilliant. Queen's music was inspirational- it was like being at a rock concert. It is one of the biggest fireworks nights in the country.”
Meanwhile thousands turned out elsewhere in the county for major firework displays including those at Foxhall Stadium, the Museum of East Anglian Life in Stowmarket and Trimley Sports and Social Club.
