IT promises to be a world record breaking occasion when Suffolk welcomes the region's first festival of music and healing next month.

The Web of Life will play host to two attempts at getting into the Guinness Book of Records when it is staged in Wantisden Valley, near Woodbridge, on July 6 and 7.

First up, on the Saturday, will be a bid for the largest drumming ensemble, with the aim to get more than 2,000 drummers taking part.

John Richardson, New World musician and drummer in 70s band, The Rubettes, will lead the record-breaking attempt, for which he has written the music.

It aims to raise funds for the charity, Food For All, which supports the north Indian island of Danda Bhangra, by getting all participants to collect sponsorship money.

The second record bid, on Sunday, will be to hold the world's largest Ring-a-Ring O' Roses. Money raised from this will got to Operation Santa Claus.

There will be plenty of other things taking place at The Web of Life Festival, presented by Woodbridge Healing Centre, Silver Cord, throughout the weekend as well.

It will open with a tribal ceremony by Mathew Lincoln Mead from the Red Willow Tribe in Tao Pueblo, in America.

For children there will be a supervised four-acre zone that will include a people circus with circus skills workshops, sand mandalas, jewellery making, art, theatre, dance and story telling.

There will be a host of music throughout the two days with performances from people including 4 Bills and a Ben, The Magnets and many of New World Music's artists.

A specially designed labyrinth will be there for visitors to make their journey through.

The Web of Life, described by its organisers as "a festival of colour, sound, play and complementary therapies", promises to offer something to every member of the family.
