Flood warnings remain in place on some of Suffolk’s rivers as the county faces another day of strong winds and heavy rain.
James Wilby, forecaster at Weatherquest, said some parts of the north Essex and Suffolk coastline could be hit by near gale force winds tonight and tomorrow morning.
“The main feature of the weather in the next 24 hours us the strength of the wind which will pick up over night.
“These will reach near gale force at the end of the night, peaking at dawn.
“We could see winds of 50 or 60mph on north Essex and east Suffolk.”
He said Suffolk could see up to 12mm of rain today.
“Today there will be further heavy rain with a few showers overnight as well,” he said.
“There’s still potential for heavy rain in the short term but it will be a little drier tomorrow.”
The Environment Agency still has rivers in Suffolk coastal on flood alert, including the Blyth and Walpole Rivers and Chediston, Bramfield and Wrentham watercourses.
