ROADS and villages in Cambridgeshire have been hit by flooding after heavy rain.
Roads closed in Broughton, Wistow, and Kimbolton, Alconbury Weston, Alconbury, Little Paxton, Buckden, Fenstanton, and Stonely, Little Paxton and Offord after up to an inch of rain fell.
By 11.45am they had all reopened apart from roads in Little Paxton and Offord.
Chief Superintendent Mick Gipp, from Cambridgeshire Constabulary, warned people to stay away from flood water.
“It is also important that motorists do not attempt to use roads which have been shut to due surface water as they could put themselves or other people's property in danger.
”More rain is forecast for the coming days and we do not expect this to cause flooding. However, we would ask people to report any concerns they have about rising water levels to the police.”
